Privacy
This page describes how Merran handles personal information. This page says what we collect, why, and who it goes to.
What we collect
- Your email address, to sign you in and send you a code.
- What you tell Merran about your situation, and the documents you add.
- Merran’s messages, the documents it prepares, and the decisions on your matter.
- Where you came from, if you arrived from an advert: the campaign name only.
What you write before you confirm your email stays on your device. It reaches us only once you confirm.
Why
To work on your matter: understanding it, preparing documents, and having a qualified Australian lawyer check them. Also to keep a record of what was done on your matter, and to see which adverts bring people who go on to use Merran.
Who it goes to
- The law practice that reviews your work. Before taking it, it sees only what it needs to check for a conflict. Once it takes the work, it sees your matter.
- OpenAI, whose AI model Merran uses. It receives the details and documents of your matter so it can work on them. It is based in the United States.
- Supabase, which handles sign-in. It holds your email address in Sydney.
- Cloudflare, which hosts Merran and stores your matter and documents.
- Brave Search, when Merran researches the law. A research question can include details of your situation.
- Microsoft Clarity, for site analytics.
Some of these providers store or process information outside Australia.
Your rights
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you. Ask through your matter in Merran. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
